MARGARET "RUTH" WALKER

Margaret "Ruth" Walker, 86 of Raymore, MO passed away November 2, 2014. Funeral services will be at 11:30 am Thursday, November 6, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Raymore, MO with visitation from 10:00 to 11:30 am. Burial will be at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Kansas City, MO. Ruth and her twin sister, Ethel were born to parents Clifford H. and Lucy N. Medlock Hackney on July 10, 1928 on their grandparent's family farm east of California, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn L. Walker; brother, C. Ray Hackney and twin sister, Ethel L. Dalstein. She is survived by her son, James E. Gabriel (Barbara) of Harrisonville, MO; daughter, Shirley R. Shewmaker of Lee's Summit, MO; sister, Lucille Mason of California, MO; sister in-law, Mary Hackney of Cincinnati, OH; Four Grandchildren, Jeremy, Justin, Kelley, and Karen; seven great grandsons, Ethan, Noah, Delson, Austin, Mosely, Levi, and Felix as well as many nieces and nephews. Ruth spent her career in banking and retired from United Missouri Bank of Hickman Mills where she developed many lifelong friendships. She was a long time faithful member of First Baptist Church of Raymore, MO as well as Raymore Historical Society, Raymore Quilting Club, and Gardening Club. Ruth's most treasured times were spent with her family and friends. She never knew a stranger and was happiest when she was giving to others. Memorial donations suggested to First Baptist Church of Raymore or City Union Mission.
