LUEVA GEORGENE REEN
Lueva Georgene Reen, 92, died peacefully on December 25, 2012 at the John Knox Village Care Center in Lee's Summit, Missouri. Georgene was born March 8, 1920 in Chariton, Iowa to Floyd and Lorene Gilliland. In 1946 she married Marion Hammer and moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where her son Scott was born. After that marriage ended, she and Scott returned to Chariton in 1952. She married the love of her life, William J. "Bill" Reen on January 16, 1960. She and Bill moved to Ottumwa in 1969 and remained there for many years. After Bill's death in 2001, she moved to the Chariton, Iowa Care Center. In 2005, wanting to be closer to her son, Scott, she moved to John Knox Village in Lee's Summit, Missouri. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Ottumwa, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill. She is survived by her son, Scott and his wife, Annette of Raymore, Missouri; nieces, Cathy Green of Oelwein, Iowa, Suzi Yardley and Janie Yardley of Hawaii; nephews, Dick Green of Oelwein, Iowa, Mike Green and Jim Yardley of Iowa City, Iowa; and many friends both in Chariton and Ottumwa. She will be cremated and private graveside in Oelwein, Iowa at a later date.
