LOURA L. SWANEY

Loura L. Swaney, 84, of Harrisonville, Missouri, surrounded by her loving family, passed away peacefully March 20, 2014 at the Rehabilitation Center of Raymore. Memorial services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, March 22, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Harrisonville, 504 W. Wall St., Harrisonville, MO 64701. Loura was born February 1, 1930 in Lone Tree, Missouri, the daughter of Schuyler and Carrie Hollett Bennett. She lived her life in the Cass County area raising her family and working as a machine setter at the Western Electric plant in Lee's Summit, MO, for twenty-seven years. She was blessed to retire early to more fully engage two life activities she most enjoyed: cruising by ship to exotic places with friends, and investing her time in three generations of her "kids". She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Donald Swaney. She is survived by her four children: William Miller II and his wife Maria of San Diego, CA; Samuel Miller and his wife Sabra of Raymore, MO; Alice Edwards and her husband Bo of East Lynn, MO; Jacob Miller and his wife Phyllis of Harrisonville, MO; and her sister, Martha Jane Sammer of Portland, OR; as well as Jim and Kay Walkingstick of Belton, MO, and their children Cherie, Jesse and Joy, all of whom she considered hers and treated as her own. Loura has nine grandchildren: Jolene, Steffany, Philip, Kahra, Richard, Aaron, Renee', Daniel and Michael. There are ten great grandchildren: Lilliana, Julienne, Piper, Dillon, Sadie Elizabeth, Isabella, Mikaela, Ava Renee', Falicia Ann and Charlie.
