Wilcoxen

LORI HAWKINS WILCOXEN
Lori Hawkins Wilcoxen passed away on February 13, 2025 at Lee's Summit Medical Center, her health having declined over the last few years.
She was born Lori Denise Hawkins on March 30, 1963 in St. Louis, Missouri to parents, Rev. Russell Dalton Hawkins and Patricia Harrell Hawkins. Shortly thereafter, her family moved to Kansas City. She graduated from Southwest High School, class of 1981, and lived the rest of her life in the Lee's Summit area. She worked at the Colbern Road branch of Mid-Continent Library and later got her real estate license. Through the years she enjoyed helping children find the perfect books and people find the perfect homes. In fact, she just enjoyed helping when and however she could. But most of all, she enjoyed her life as a wife, mother, loving aunt and Mimi. She especially loved to bake and instilled that love in her children and grandchildren. She was also well-known for loving calla lilies and hummingbirds.
She leaves behind the great love of her life, her husband of 42 years, Tim Wilcoxen; their two boys, Roscoe (Mary) and Ryan; her beloved grandchildren, Timothy, Haleigh, Landon, and Cooper; her sister, Pamela Hawkins and brother, Kevin Hawkins; nieces and nephews, Michaela and Christian Ousnamer, Jevin and Austin Hawkins; stepmother Helma Hawkins; and four step-siblings, Chuck Hendley, Andrew Hendley, Megan Hendley Monarez, Jennifer Hendley Alexander, and their children, Rachael, Rebecca, Mason, Dalton, Kellen, Chloe, and Marley.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents, stepson Nicholas Wilcoxen, and sister-in-law, Rosalind Wilcoxen.
Though pain debilitated her body in the end, we remember her vibrant smile and vivacious spirit, knowing that as her true essence which has now passed on to the great beyond.
A celebration of her life will be on the 23rd of March at 1:00 p.m. in Fillmore Chapel at Unity Village, 200 Unity Cir N, Lee's Summit, MO 64086.
