LESLIE JOSEPH SHERMAN

Leslie Joseph Sherman, age 85, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and children on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.

Services will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024 at Cullen Funeral Home, Inc. 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Leslie will then be laid to rest at Raymore Cemetery.

Leslie was born near St. Louis, Missouri on March 13, 1939 to Leslie Byron Sherman and Ann Elizabeth (Gremminger) Sherman. After graduating high school, Leslie honorably served four years in the United States Air Force before continuing his education and receiving his bachelors degree from UMKC. In the early summer of 1961, he was united in marriage with his wife, Margaret Joyce (Cawood) Sherman on May 7th in Kansas City, Missouri. Their union was blessed with three children. Over the years, Leslie and Joyce fostered 112 newborn babies, caring for them until permanent families were established. In life, Leslie was an avid catch and release fisherman since the age of 13. He was a passionate artist, especially painting which he handed down to his grandchildren. Leslie also enjoyed rock hunting and gardening.

Leslie was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Ann Sherman.

He is survived by his loving wife of of 63 years, Joyce Sherman; three children, Keith Sherman (Gloria), Kirk Sherman, and Amy Sherman; two sisters; five grandchildren, Hannah, Levi, Joel, Hope, and Charity; and two great grandchildren, River and Galen.
