LELAND LEROY HILL
Leland LeRoy Hill, age 78, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Center Pointe Medical Center in Independence, Missouri.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Brooking Cemetery, 10004 E 53rd St., Kansas City, Missouri.
LeRoy was born on September 6, 1947, in Paola, Kansas, the son of Leland and Mable Hill. He grew up in Belton, Missouri, surrounded by family and lifelong friends. Shortly after graduating from high school, he married Rosemary Bagby, and together they were blessed with three children: Chris, Scott, and Holly.
LeRoy dedicated his career to the craft of being a meat cutter, working in grocery stores throughout the Kansas City area. He often spoke fondly of the many people he met along the way and how those relationships shaped his appreciation for others and their differences.
A true lover of the outdoors, LeRoy found joy in horses, fishing, boating, and tending to his yard. His greatest sanctuary was his lake house in Warsaw, overlooking the Lake of the Ozarks. He delightfully filled it with “lake toys” for his children and grandchildren, ensuring every visit was full of fun and adventure.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Mable Hill, and his wife, Betti Anne Hill.
He is survived by: His three children: Chris Hill (Rhonda), Scott Hill (Suzie), and Holly Hill-Pointer (Charles), Four granddaughters: Ariel (Jake), Marissa, Gabrielle, and Makelle, Three great-grandchildren: Aurora, Kai, and Atlas, His brother Dean Hill (Diana), His sister Joyce Renzelman-Hill (Tabb), Nephews Brian (Beth), Jason (Nancy) and Jeff (Heather) and nieces Amy and Lisa (Kyle), seven grandnieces, six grandnephews, four great-grandnieces, and one great-grandnephew.
