Laurence graduated from Rich Hill High School in 1959, and moved to Kansas City, Missouri where he went to work at Sears for 34 years after that worked for Shawnee Mission School District for 11 years. In 1964 he joined the National Guard and served until 1970. During this time he married Barbara Kay (Wilson) Bellach on September 27, 1969, and enjoyed 56 years of marriage. Laurence and Barbara raised their family in Kansas City, Missouri, watching their children flourish through their school years, celebrate their college graduations, and build families of their own.
A dedicated member of Peace Lutheran Church for 56 years, he was a very devote Christian who served on the Board of Facilities and the Board of Evangelism. His church friend became an integral and important part of Laurence life and ones that he highly valved. Laurence enjoyed his hobbies of gardening, fishing, hunting and watching his KC Royals (he loved some baseball), later in life he enjoyed fantasy football (not his most successful venture) Laurence is often remembered for his sharp wit, his deep laugh and the joy he felt in time spent together with family and friends which often included home-cooked meal and a lively game of cards. Laurence is known for the life-long friendships that he cherished with Dennis (Ruby) Rapp, Clyde (JoAnn) Rapp, and Gary (Linda) Fischer where many of his hobbies were enjoyed with this group throughout his entire life.
Laurence is survived by his wife, Barbara, and his children, Marianne (Frank), Michael (Melissa), and Jeffrey (Sarah), and his grandchildren, Caden, Brandon, Sabrina, Wade and Aliya.
