LARRY WAYNE TAYLOR
Larry Wayne Taylor, age 77, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away at his home on May 3, 2018.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:30 p.m., with Visitation from 1:00-2:30 p.m., on Friday, May 11th, 2018, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Raymore.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (www.lls.org), or to the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org).
Larry Wayne Taylor was born on July 9, 1940, in Warrensburg, Missouri. He was the son of Marvin E. Taylor and Elizabeth J. (Jourdan) Taylor.
On November 26, 1961, Larry was united in marriage with Judy Crandall. Together, Larry and Judy were blessed with three sons, Mark, Mike, and Matt.
Larry attended Central Missouri State University, where he received his Master's Degree in Education.
For 32 years, Larry held the position of School Administrator for the Raytown School district in Raytown, Missouri.
After his retirement, Larry was asked to return to the Raytown School District, where he served as Discipline Hearing Officer. Larry also worked for the Kansas City Royals, at the Royals Stadium.
Larry was a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
For over 13 years, Larry served as a member and volunteer of the Raytown Teacher's Credit Committee.
He was also a member of the Missouri State Teachers Association, and the Missouri Retired Teachers Association.
His hobbies included playing golf, target shooting, fishing, and going on float trips at the Ozarks. He also enjoyed supporting his favorite baseball team, The Royals.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Elizabeth Taylor.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Judy Taylor; three sons, Mark Taylor and wife, Alison, Mike Taylor and wife, Angel, and Matt Taylor and wife, Susan; Larry's brother, Gene Taylor and wife, Eileen; and eight grandchildren, Drew, Kirsten, Clayton, Rhianne, Ellie, Carly, Logan, and Jake.
