Kristine was born on January 11, 1949 in Orange County, California. She was the daughter of Norman O'Brien and Lilian Stevens. Growing up, Kristine had one brother, Michael. On February 10, 1990, Kristine was joined in marriage with Gary Hibbs. Together, they were blessed with a son, Jeffrey Robert Kruse. Kristine was a member of the Lion's Club in Peculiar, Missouri. She adored animals and was an extremely passionate artist. Using paint, Kristine could create anything. Kristine's final years revolved around the grandkids that she moved from California to be with. She did everything she could to ensure they had what was needed. Kris also enjoyed painting and crafting with all three of them.
Josiah was her oldest grandchild. Grandma was always impressed with his artistic ability, as well as how intellectual he was. She went to as many football games as she could and took pride in her grandson's athletic ability. She was also very excited about being here to watch her oldest grandson receive his high school diploma in the spring.
Isaac was her second grandchild. From the day he was born Isaac could make Grandma laugh at the drop of a hat. Isaac's creativity and loving nature were also things that put a smile on Grandma's face. Kris was so happy that she was here to watch him become a Boy Scout and witness the first shot Isaac ever made during one of his basketball games.
Faith was her youngest grandchild. Grandma saw a lot of herself in Faith, and would often refer to her as "her little earth girl" because of the love they shared for animals, art, and people. Shortly before her passing, she had the pleasure of watching Faith on stage during a performance at school and was so proud of her.
Kristine was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Michael O'Brien; and sister in-law, Beverly Balsley.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gary J. Hibbs of 30 years; son, Jeffrey Robert Kruse; three grandchildren, Josiah, Isaac and Faith; nephew, James Balsley (wife Cynthia); great niece, Sophia; as well as several cousins and extended family members.
