KEVIN R. GILLIS

Kevin R. Gillis, age 57, of Raymore, Missouri passed away too soon on May 26, 2017.
A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Cullen Funeral Home, Raymore.

Kevin was born April 28, 1960 at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, North Carolina. He was the son of Russell M. Gillis and Dorothy J. (Decker) Gillis. He was a 1978 graduate of Ruskin High School in Kansas City, Missouri.

For over twenty years, Kevin lovingly supported his family as a Kansas City union iron worker (Local #10). Aside from his trade as an iron worker, Kevin also detailed cars. His fascination with cars broadened from collecting and restoration to building and displaying model cars.

Kevin enjoyed listening to heavy metal music, watching football and supporting his favorite team, the Raiders. Above everything else in this life, Kevin loved his friends, his iron worker brothers, his family and especially his grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his father, Russell M. Gillis; and nephew, Dan Walker.
He is survived by his mother, Dorothy J. Gillis; son, Josh Gillis (Chrissy) of Unionville, Missouri; daughter, Krisi Cushenberry (Josh) of Independence, Missouri; sisters, Tammy Snedden (Greg) and Diane McLeod; six grandchildren, Ciarra, Madison, Tessa, Angelyck, Adryanna, Alayna; nephew, Adam Snedden; niece, Holly Pitoniack; aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
