IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kay Carson
Hamilton
July 13, 1953 – February 23, 2021
KAY CARSON HAMILTON
Kay Hamilton, age 67, of Leawood, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri following a courageous six week battle with COVID-19. In her final weeks, surrounded by loved ones, her grit, determination, fighting spirit - and stubbornness (!) - were on full-display. She fought until her final moments; her children could not have asked for a greater life teacher.
Kay was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 13, 1953 to Coy Carson and Francis (Shumate) Carson. Fulfilling a lifelong dream to practice medicine, Kay earned a degree in Anesthesia in Wichita, Kansas, and worked as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in the Kansas City area for 34 years. In 2017, at the age of 64, she felt a calling to return to the classroom and pursue a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. During her time as a therapist, she impacted many lives. Kay was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Alumni Association and held many leadership positions over the years, continually supporting their mission and sisterhood.
Nothing brought Kay greater joy than her role as a mother and grandmother. She treasured every meal and conversation with her children, and savored every second baking with, reading stories and singing lullabies to her grandchildren. Her model for living fully in every moment has much to teach us.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation,

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Coy and Francis Carson; and grandson, Hunter Entwistle.
She is survived by her four children, Emma Entwistle (Dan), Chris Hamilton (Amy Skibiel), Bryce Colaco (Syler), and Taylor Hamilton (Maggie Long); and six grandchildren, Chase, Lila, Coy, William, Mariyn, and Waverly.
A celebration of Kay's life will be held on a later date at the Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas.
