JULIA E. NASH

Julia E. Nash, 89, of Belton, MO passed away January 31, 2015. Funeral service will be 11 AM Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Cullen Funeral Home with visitation 10-11 AM. Inurnment will be Wednesday at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Harvesters International, 3801 Topping Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64129. Julia was born June 16, 1925 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Thomas H. and Dora Grace Delaney Eddy. She married Robert R. Nash, Jr. on February 9, 1946 and they had three children.


The family moved several times, following her husband in his Air Force career, including almost two years in Germany. Once they settled in the Kansas City area, Julia became a member of Beta Sigma Phi and enjoyed the companionship of her sorority sisters for many years. She also played bridge as part of a club for a long time. Julia was a talented artist and enjoyed oil painting, knitting and crocheting, doing needlework, painting ceramics, and doing other crafts. She could be seen most mornings working a crossword puzzle or two, and sometimes writing a poem about a life event. Julia's favorite sport was cheering the Royals on to victory.


Julia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert R. Nash, Jr.; brother, Lyman E. Eddy, and sister, Alice M. Turner. She is survived by her children, Sheryl A. Nash, Robert J. Nash (Janine) and Rebecca J. Atwell (Robert Jr.); nine grandchildren, Jeremy, Bryan, Mary, David, Sarah, Mark, Peter, Anna, and Abigail; and nine great grandchildren, Andrew, Juliana, Nathan, Joanna, Samuel, Hannah, Riley, Micah, and Caleb.
