IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Judith Anne
Messer
August 1, 1939 – November 6, 2025
Judith Anne Messer 86, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus after a brief illness on November 6th, 2025 at St. Luke's Hospice House. She was surrounded by her beloved children, grandchildren, great grand children, and her sisters. We believe her husband welcomed her to heaven as she met Jesus face to face.
Judy was born on August 1, 1939 in Kansas City Mo to John and Mary Orlean Kraker. She was the oldest of four girls. They lived in Kansas City as well as much of her childhood in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Following High school she married Arthur Joseph Messer on May 27, 1961 at Redemptorist Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife and mother having eight children who they raised to experience all the Love and Joy of every Holy Holiday and birthday. She deeply loved her husband, taught us all how to be better spouses and parents, and to serve the Lord in all things.
The Catholic Church was a very important part of Judy's life. She was a member at Coronation of our Lady in Grandview for 57 years. She and Dad were honored to be a Marital Prep Couple. She cherished many dear friends in the parish. She also enjoyed her time as a lay minister, a sacristan, as well as being a part of all the fun weddings, volleyball games, and dances. Judy worked as a waitress at "Dixons Chili" then became a business owner of the "Household Word" and "Judith's fur products & imports." Later she worked at Marion Labs in Quality Control. As their kids grew up, traveling the world brought Arthur and Judy many wonderful memories from places like Greece, Portugal as well as across the US.
Other than Loving her husband and kids, her three favorite hobbies were cooking, sewing, and antiques. She loved being a seamstress and even made all four of her daughter's wedding gowns, many bridesmaid dresses, as well as many of her own clothes.
Judy is preceded in death by her husband Arthur and her sister Linda (Barenberg).
Survived by her eight children Mary Vogt (Mark), Anne Kennedy (Duane), John Messer (Mary), Luke Messer (Lisa), Thad Messer (Chrissy), Sarah Tibbetts (Russell), Bart Messer (Cindy), Clare Jeffress (Dwight), her sisters Rita Mulleedy (Bob), and Kathy Stegman (Cecil), twenty-seven grand children, twenty-five great grand children, and many nieces and nephews.
