JOSHUA DANIEL WOOD
Joshua Daniel Wood, 44, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away on March 8th, 2026.
Josh was born on December 14, 1981, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Gene and Donna Wood. He grew up in Raymore, where from an early age he seemed destined to live life a little faster and a little freer than most. Whether running the neighborhood streets, kicking up dust on anything with wheels, or chasing the next adventure, Josh carried a wild and independent spirit that stayed with him throughout his life.
He attended Raymore–Peculiar schools and found his path early in the trades. A hardworking and determined man, Josh spent much of his career as a concrete foreman before becoming a true jack-of-all-trades. From painting to building porches and tackling countless projects, he took great pride in his work. He often said he never needed to advertise—his craftsmanship and word of mouth would always speak for itself.
Josh was known for his free spirit, his determination, and his ability to be a friend to anyone who crossed his path. He had a way of making people feel welcome, and laughter seemed to follow wherever he went.
Outside of work, Josh loved being active and outdoors. He enjoyed lifting weights, fishing, fixing up go-carts, caring for chickens, and spending time on the water. He loved fast engines, the thrill of the open road, and proudly showing off his chopper. But above all else, Josh cherished time with his three boys and the moments spent with family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, Gene and Donna Wood; his beloved sons, Jacob, Anthony, and Preston Wood; his siblings, Lori Hatfield, Willie Wood, and Mary Wood; as well as many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Anne and Joe Ready, and his paternal grandparents, Wilfred and Lorna Wood. His good boy Stunner.
Josh will make his final ride on March 19, 2026. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Cullen Funeral Home, with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Following the service, Josh will take his final ride to Belton Cemetery, where graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. as he is laid to rest.
In lieu of flowers, donations to help support Josh’s sons with burial expenses are greatly appreciated.
Josh will be remembered for his devotion to his boys, his loyalty to family and friends, and the wild, free spirit that carried him through life. He had a gift for finding joy in the moment and for reminding those around him to live fully and without hesitation.
Though gone far too soon, the road he traveled and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His laughter, his stories, and his untamed spirit will never be forgotten.
