JOSHUA A. BURDICK

Joshua (Josh) A. Burdick, 23, of Raymore, MO passed away December 23, 2014. Funeral service will be 11 AM Monday, December 29, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Raymore with visitation 5-7 PM Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Cullen Funeral Home. Burial will be in Raymore Cemetery. Memorials may be made to South Metro Fire Station 611 W. Foxwood Dr., Raymore, MO 64083. Joshua was born May 16, 1991 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Jack and Sandy Burdick. Joshua was preceded in death by his brother, Ryan Burdick; paternal grandparents, Jack and Kathleen Burdick, Sr.; and maternal grandfather, Bill Roberts. He is survived by his parents; sister, Krista Dunbar and husband Thomas; maternal grandmother, Rochelle Roberts and many family and friends.
Josh was a graduate of Ray-Pec High School Class of 2010 and avid fan of the varsity football team where he was always in attendance for games. His love and support of the team continued long after graduation. A firefighter at heart, his lifelong dream was fulfilled in November 2013 after being inducted into the South Metro Fire Protection District as an honorary fire fighter. He also served as an ambassador for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, where for many years he helped to raise awareness of the needs of young people with neuromuscular diseases in support of the annual fireman's boot block fundraiser. In spite of his physical limitations he was an active member of the community and often seen throughout the city. His can do spirit and love of life inspired and endeared him to many.
