JOHN GENE STEHLE

John Gene Stehle, 81, Passed away peacefully at home in Raymore on January 9, 2025. He was born July 7, 1943 to John Henry Stehle and Dorothy Jane Apple Stehle in Benton Harbor, Michigan. John has four siblings Larry, Robert, Millie Turney and Darlene Arent.

John married Rita Miller on May 25, 1979 in Berrien County Michigan.  Rita had four children from a previous marriage, Michelle Borror, Gary, Pergler, Melvin, Pergler, and Tammy Wilson. They also gained 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

John was a very hard worker from a young age. He was a truck driver and a great carpenter. He could build anything that you wanted him to build just give him a saw, some wood and nails. He was a perfectionist. He cherished his family and had a soft heart for the girls. He was very tender hearted, and you can bet if a grandbaby cried, he would too.  He was a man of faith and loved the Lord.

After a long day of hard work, you could find him curled up on the couch, sound asleep to an old movie. He sure loved his country music too.

John will be missed by those that knew him, from his sweet smile, kind words, soft voice and his tender heart.

John was preceded in death by his parents, brother Larry, wife Rita, daughter Michelle, son Gary and great grandson Chevy.

A graveside service will be held on a later date.
