JOHN C. MOWRY

John C. Mowry, 82, of Raymore, MO passed away August 19, 2015. A celebration will be held 6-8 PM Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Cullen Funeral Home. John requested to be cremated. Inurnment will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO at a later date. John was born on September 11, 1932 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of John F. and Mae (Richards) Mowry. John was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife Helen L. Mowry of 58 years; two sons, John Craig Mowry and wife Edith, and Clayton E. Mowry; two grandchildren, Steve Scharf (Elisa) and Tara Young (James); and two great-grandsons, Tavian and Austin. John was a US Navy Veteran. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW and also a member of the Veterans of South Pinellas Co. in Florida. John was a Scout Leader for many years and a member of The Order of the Arrow and a Sachem in the Tribe of Mic O Say.
