JOHN E. DEERE

John E. Deere, 68, of Belton, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Kansas City Hospice after a valiant battle with cancer.

John was born June 7, 1946 in Grandview, MO. He was a classic car enthusiast and loved to travel. He retired from Bill's Auto Supply/NAPA Auto Parts in Belton in 2008 after a 42 year career. John was known by many as the "parts man" and never met a stranger. His sense of humor and smile were contagious.

John was preceded in death by his father, George Deere, and mother, Johnnie Deere, both of Belton. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Rita Deere; daughter Stacey Deere Brown (and spouse Jeff Brown) of Kansas City; son Steven Deere (and spouse Kenbra Deere) of Belton; brother J.T. McArthur of Harrisonville; sister Vickie Forbes of Harrisonville; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and many devoted friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Cullen Funeral Home in Raymore, MO. A traditional service will be Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 11:00 AM with a graveside service immediately following at Belton Cemetery. Classic car enthusiasts are encouraged to celebrate John's love of cars with a procession/cruise from the funeral home to the cemetery (weather permitting).

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care, The University of Kansas Cancer Center, or Free Wheels for Kids - because what child doesn't want a bicycle to ride (www.freewheelskc.org).

Arrangements: Cullen Funeral Home, Raymore, MO (816)322-5278
