JOHN DAVID CRABTREE

John David Crabtree, age 53, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri, surrounded by his family and his closest friends.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083. A funeral service will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home followed by a burial at Peculiar Cemetery in Peculiar, Missouri.

David was born in Kansas City, Missouri on July 9, 1968, to Terry E. Crabtree and Norma R. (Stephens) Crabtree.

After graduating from Ray-Pec High School, David chose to attend UCM Warrensburg, where he studied Criminal Justice. After college, David began an enterprising career with Crabtree-Harmon Corp. Eventually venturing into his proudest career accomplishment when he began Crabtree Transportation. Here David not only built a solid company and career, but a lifetime of friendships with employees that respected and loved him.

He was joined in marriage with his wife, Becky J. (Harrison) on September 28, 1996. Together they began building their loving home where they were blessed with three children, Brooke, Grace, and Cole. Thus began David's journey into coaching football and softball, and being a hands on rodeo dad. His ability to deliver a well-timed "Rub some dirt on it" was known far and wide. These activities were intermingled with serving on the Ray-Pec School Board, and the Country Club Bank Board of Directors, all the while never forgetting to find time for riding horses and making a valiant effort on the golf course. David did not live a charmed life - instead, HE charmed life. He did so with humor, sarcasm, a magical laugh, and an endless supply of Dad Jokes. David had a Christian heart and used it to gift the world with an abundance of love. We know Dave's love for life and everyone around him was his key for success. He showed everyone what a kind heart truly is.

David his survived by his loving wife of twenty-five years, Becky Crabtree; two daughters, Brooke Crabtree and Grace Crabtree; son, Cole Crabtree; sister, Donna Trusk (Tim); and parents, Terry and Norma Crabtree, and a never ending disgruntlement over having come in 2nd Place in the Mr. RPHS contest despite his stellar performance. This will surely live well beyond time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Missouri Special Olympics, to honor David's love for children with special needs.
