JOHN WILSON BARKER

John Wilson Barker, age 56, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, October 2, 2024.

A celebration of John's life will be held on a day yet to be determined.

John was born in Starkville, Mississippi on December 4, 1967, to Marvin Barker and Alice (Robbins) Barker. John graduated high school and continued his education receiving a Master's degree. He was joined in marriage to his wife Heather on April 15, 2000. In life, John was a man of Christian faith and loved his sports, especially baseball, Atlanta Braves and St. Louis Cardinals, and 80s hair bands.

John is survived by his loving wife of over 24 years, Heather Barker; loving son, Nathan Barker; his parents; sister, Amy Jo Carpenter; nephew, Jonathan Carpenter; and his dog, Chase.

John will be remembered for his many quips including "Let 'er rip, tater chip!" "Dagnabbit!" and if you dropped something "Just put that anywhere."

While he could be simultaneously crotchety and charming, he was a devoted husband and father and would do anything for his family and friends.  He will be truly missed.
