JESSE WAYNE GOODPASTER

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jesse Wayne Goodpaster, who departed this world on March 7, 2024. Jesse was born August 28, 1927, and was 96 years old.

For the last 72 years, he and his wife Mary have faced the world together while raising a family, working a farm, and finally settling down into retirement. Jesse was an avid outdoorsman and could often be found hunting and fishing with family or friends.

Wayne embodied resilience and strength throughout his life as he survived the Great Depression, soldiered through WWII, and met the many challenges of leading a family through all of life's adversities. He met these challenges with quick wit, hard work, and a twinkle in those clear blue eyes. His smile and slow southern accent will always be remembered by those he loved.

Jesse leaves behind a legacy of love for his cherished wife, Mary. In addition, he is survived by his children: Barbara (John) Langley, Cheryl (Steve) Bell, Carol (Jim) Oldham, Lisa Altaman, and Jerry Wayne (Monica) Goodpaster - along with 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-children.

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on March 15, 2024, at the Belton Cemetery in Belton, Missouri.
