Jerry Franklin Guyette

July 14, 1963 – February 10, 2025

Jerry Franklin Guyette passed away on February 10, 2025, at the age of 61. Born in Madera, California, on July 14, 1963 to Jerome Franklin Guyette and Jeanie Diane King, he was raised in Kerman by his grandmother, Mattie Spangler. He later lived in Fresno, Hobbs, and Taft.

Jerry had a deep faith that guided his life. He attended Bible college in Missouri and married Amy Lewandowski on May 23, 1987. In 1988, he embarked on a missionary trip to Guangzhou, China, smuggling Bibles at great personal risk. He later served in the U.S. Navy Construction Battalion from 1990 to 1992.

From 2003 to 2013, Jerry worked as a case manager at the Iroquois Center, impacting countless children's lives. He was also skilled in auto body work, carpentry, and plumbing, using his hands to help others.

Music was central to his life, and he performed with The Lighthouse Boys in Bakersfield. He loved the outdoors, enjoying fishing, camping, and hiking. Jerry was known for his kindness, laughter, and creative brilliance.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Jerome Franklin Guyette; grandmother, Mattie Spangler; uncles, Frank and Eugene King; and aunt, Helen Hogan.

He is survived by his sons, Nathan Guyette and Jayvid Guyette and his wife Krista; his ex-wife, Amy Guyette; his beloved grandchildren, Bea Diamond, Jazzmin, Melisha, Yo, and True; sister, Carol Smart and her husband Stephen Smart; brother, Rick Rainey and his wife Alicia Rainey; brother, Steven Rainey; mother, Jeanie Diane Tamburello; brother and sisters-in-law, Olie and Patty Self, Kathy and Bruce Miller, Mary Lewandowski, Julie Zeck, Judi Stump, Jim Lewandowski, Mike and Mary Lewandowski; and many cousins, Johnny and Jerry Desk, Kim and Neil Dotson, Jeanne and Janet Hogan, Mike, Matthew, Mark, Joe, and Christopher King.

A funeral service will be held on February 22, 2025, at 612 W. Foxwood Dr., Raymore, Missouri 64083. Family visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, and the service will take place from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Burial to follow the services at Raymore Cemetery, Raymore, Missouri.
