IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jerold L.
Evilsizor
December 1, 1941 – March 15, 2019
JEROLD LEE EVILSIZOR, CLU, ChFC, CIC
Jerold L. Evilsizor, age 77, of Belton, Missouri, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2019.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Raymore, 116 S. Washington St., Raymore, Missouri 64083.
Jerry was born on December 1, 1941 in DeGraff, Ohio. He was the son of Kermit Evilsizor and Juanita (Parr) Evilsizor and enjoyed a close relationship with his grandfather, Harold Evilsizor, throughout his childhood.
He met his wife, Patricia Shroyer, his senior year of high school while working at Isley's Ice Cream Parlor in Bellefontaine, Ohio. He soon made his intentions clear: "I want to be a forest ranger and you can be my wife." On June 12, 1960, Jerry and Tricia were joined in marriage. Together they were blessed with four sons, Kenneth, Jeffrey, Steven, and Douglas, and Jerry devoted himself to his family.
Jerry started his career as a door-to-door Fuller Brush salesman. He then focused on insurance, earning certifications in CLU, ChFC and CIC. He spent over 20 years with Preferred Risk before becoming an independent insurance agent.
While his career may not have taken him into the woods, Jerry was an avid hunter, fisherman and hiker. He and Tricia enjoyed experiencing new landscapes and traveled extensively, including Latin America, Africa, Australia and New Zealand, and throughout the United States. Upon retirement, Jerry and Tricia thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail south to north. Tricia's trail name was "Slow Motion" and Jerry's was "Patience" for good reason.
Jerry was devout in his faith and began every morning with his Bible and a devotional. A man of few words, he led by quiet example. In 2015, Jerry and Tricia moved to Belton, Missouri; they made their church home the First Baptist Church of Raymore.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Kermit Evilsizor and Juanita (Parr) Bourland; brother, Larry Campbell; and sister, Coni Campbell.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Evilsizor; four sons, Kenneth Evilsizor (Jacqueline) of San Diego, CA, Jeffrey Evilsizor (Tracy) of Belton, MO, Steven Evilsizor (Ruth Ann) of Hampstead, NC, and Douglas Evilsizor of Albuquerque, NM; two brothers, Thomas Evilsizor (Susan) and William Evilsizor (Martha); sister, Linda Roosa (Larry); ten grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
He will be missed.
