JENNIE ISABELLE KEATING
Jennie Isabelle Keating, age 88, of Peculiar, Missouri, passed away on September 25, 2018, at the Belton Regional Medical Center.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 West Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org).
Jennie was born on May 24, 1930, in Las Animas, Colorado. She was the daughter of John Lewis Ferrell and Mary Grace Zimmerman Ferrell.
A devout Christian, Jennie fiercely loved her family. After her mother's death, she stepped in to raise her younger sisters, Lori and Edie, alongside her own five children. She always supported her family and was an example of self-sacrifice and strength.
Jennie had a keen creative eye. Whether she was finding and getting her boys to move rocks, sewing or altering an outfit, making her garden a little more beautiful, or perfecting a recipe, she always had a vision for how to make things better.
Jennie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years, Matthew John Keating; two brothers, George A. Ferrell and Harry O. Ferrell; two sisters, Margaret O. Thomas and Lori Youngblood; and grandson J. Alex Lasater.
She is survived by three sons, James R. Shelton, Steven K. Shelton (Janice), and Michael P. Keating (Christina); two daughters, Nancy S. Lasater (Rod) and Tracy A. Oliver; brother Joseph Ferrell; sister Edie Wallick (Dennis); eighteen grandchildren, Jason, Joshua, C. Isaac (Sunny), Elijah (Patricia), Luke (Andrea), Silas (Jaycee), Anna, Micah, Abigail (Pete), Timothy (Emilee), Eric (Melissa), Nathan, Kelsey (Zak), Jacob (Amanda), Maggie, Elena (Cody), Julia, and David; and twelve great grandchildren, Christian, Sylvia, Ava, Liam, Christian, Elijah, Sean, Remi, Chase, Libby, Ella, and Connor.
