JANICE L. JONES
Janice L. Jones, 83, of Raymore, MO, formerly a long-time resident of Belton, MO, passed December 21, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation will be held 6-8 pm Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Cullen Funeral Home, Raymore, MO. Funeral services will be held 10 am Saturday, December 29th at Holland-Coble Funeral Home, Montezuma, IA with burial to follow in Barnes City Cemetery, Barnes City, IA.
Janice was born July 7, 1935 in Poweshiek County, Iowa. She was the youngest daughter of Edward D. Walsh and Verlie Tolles. She was blessed with eight siblings, Opal, Irvin, Virgil, Verbal, Dorothy, Macel, Ralph and Edward "Eddie".
On December 21, 1953, Janice was united into marriage with Louis W. "Bill" Jones. Together, Janice and Bill were blessed with four children, Jolene, Cheryl, Mark and Janet. While raising her four children she worked as a clerk at Gale's Clothing Store in Belton for six years, later she prepared taxes for H & R Block for ten years. Janice spent her spare time working on family genealogy. She loved enjoying and spending time with her family.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis W. "Bill" Jones in 2010; and her eight siblings, Opal Elam, Irvin Walsh, Virgil Walsh, Verbal Conn, Dorothy Hurd, Macel Gilchrist, Ralph Walsh and Edward "Eddie" Walsh.
She is survived by her four children, Jolene Burandt, Cheryl Richards (Colin), Mark Jones and Janet Lawson (David); seven grandchildren, Danielle (Devin), Nicolas (Kristi), Rebecca, Breanne (David), Sally, Sarah (Richard) and Richard; ten great-grandchildren, Makayla, Gabriel, Julian, Charlie, Amelia, Lauren, Adelaide, Calvin, Shea, Elli, and one on the way (May).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice 1500 Meadow Lake Pkwy #200, Kansas City, MO 64114.
