JAMES "JIM" W. SMITH
James "Jim" W. Smith, 92, of Belton, Missouri, passed away September 14, 2018 at Redwood of Raymore.

Jim was born on January 14, 1926 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the son of Frank C. Smith and Mabel R. Jackson.
Jim served his country for over one year during the Second World War, achieving the rank of Corporal in the Army Air Corps. Following Jim's service in the military, he started his career as a carpenter. From 1961 to 1987 Jim was with the Carpenter's Union.
As one of the original members of the First Baptist Church in Raytown, Missouri, Jim continued to be very active within the church for over eighty years. On November 25, 1945 Jim was joined in marriage with Naomi Stout. Together they were blessed with two daughters Janice and Jill, and son Ross.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mabel Jackson, and his brother Marion Smith.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 72 years Naomi Smith; two daughters, Janice Smith and Jill Gonzalez (Tom); son Ross Smith (Michell); sister Dorothy Frogge; five grandchildren, Dr. Sarah Nyp (Dr. Michael Nyp), Jessica Geran (Chasey), Davida Gonzalez, Rachel Bright (Chase), and Lindsey Jenkins (Dustin); and three great grandchildren Abigail, Matthew, and Allsion.
