James A. McMinn, 88 of Raymore, Missouri passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at The Foxwood Springs Health Care Center.
He was born August 6, 1921, at Huntsville, Arkansas, the son of Bruce and Ruth McMinn. James was a Graduate of Shawnee Mission Rural High School and prior to WWII worked at North American Aviation in Kansas City, where he met his future spouse Martha V. Friedhoff. During WWII he served with the Marine Corps in the Pacific and China.
James married Martha on December 14, 1946 and the couple moved to Wellington, Kansas, where James started work for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita. After retirement in 1983, James and Martha moved to Burnet, Texas where they were members of the First Baptist Church of Kingsland, Texas. In November 1996, the couple moved to Foxwood Springs Living Center in Raymore, Missouri.
James was preceded in death by his wife Martha, and daughter Mary. He is survived by a son, Tom McMinn and his wife Sally of Ellisville, Missouri, a son-in-law Joe Tetuan of Topeka, Kansas, and four grandchildren, Kate Tetuan of Boston, Massachusetts, Mitchel Tetuan of Topeka, Kansas, Amy James of Nashville, Tennessee, and Ashley McMinn of Kansas City, Missouri.
A memorial service will be held 10AM Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Foxwood Springs Bromwell Hall in Raymore, Missouri.
