JAMES W. BIDWELL

James W. Bidwell, age 87, of Freeman, Missouri, passed away December 25, 2016 at Lee's Summit Medical Center, Lee's Summit, Missouri. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 12:00 p.m., with visitation from 11:00-12:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 28, at Cullen Funeral Home, Raymore, MO.

James was born March 5, 1929 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the son of Fredrick and Emma (Kurtz) Bidwell. James proudly served his country as a member of both the Army and Air Force and received his Associates degree.

On December 10, 1965 he married the love of his life, Judith "Judy" Hunt. Together, James and Judith were blessed with eight children, Dennis, David, John, Tamera, Shari, Donna, Diane, and Robert. James lovingly supported his family for many years as a Precision Inspector for the Bendix Corporation in Kansas City, Missouri.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick and Emma Bidwell; twin sons, Dennis and David Bidwell; son, Robert Bidwell; two daughters, Tamera and Shari Bidwell; his brother, Robert Sweeney; sister, Betty Brown.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judith "Judy" A. Bidwell; son, John Bidwell and wife, Kandi of Cordova , Tennessee; daughters, Donna Howard and husband, David of Kodak, Tennessee, and Diane Nichols of Freeman, Missouri; his brother, Richard Sweeney and wife Joan of Lee's Summit, Missouri; 24 Grandchildren, 74 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, and many, many friends.
