James Larry Austin, age 74, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away on May 6, 2018, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

James was born on August 2, 1943, in Dallas, Georgia. He was the son of Frank E. Austin and Mary Sue (Reeves) Culp.

James worked for the Kansas City School District as a custodial building manager until his retirement. After retirement, he went on to work for the Liberty Missouri School District.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank E. Austin and Mary Sue Culp; his infant son, Baby Austin (1964); and his brother, Charles Austin.

James is survived by his two sons, James Ray Austin and Rusty Ralph Austin; and his stepdaughter, Melissa; six grandchildren, Gavin Lee Baxley, Skylar Dawn Austin, William Randal James Austin, Gracelyn Servoss, Katelyn Austin, and Keagan Austin; Skylar and William's mother, Brandi Bellamy; one great-granddaughter, Sarah Mae Baxley; and one great-grandchild on the way…
