Jacqueline Marie
Goranson
November 10, 1954 – June 6, 2025
Jackie Goranson (Warden)
Jacqueline "Jackie" Marie Goranson, age 70, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away Friday, June 6, 2025. Born to Rodney and Helen Marie (Buck) Warden on November 10, 1954, in Kansas City, Missouri, Jackie grew up in Raymore, spending her first several years with her paternal grandparents, Emma and Jesse Warden, who one could argue were her most favorite people. She graduated from Raymore-Peculiar High School in 1972 and attended Southwest Missouri State University, graduating in 1976 with a degree in accounting. She began her career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a staff accountant in March 1977. Jackie retired in 2017, after working for the Corps almost 41 years, as the Chief of the Finance and Accounting Branch.
Jackie enjoyed working in her yard and gardening and could be seen almost daily picking up twigs or pulling weeds. Throughout her life, Jackie enjoyed visiting her grandparents at their farm, swimming and boating at the lake, concerts and nights on the town with friends, attending her kids' sporting events and extra-curricular activities, and vacationing at the beach in Florida. She especially enjoyed having the title of "grandma" to the many kids fostered by her daughter, Jessica, over the years. Jackie mostly treasured time spent with her grandchildren. Her most favorite pastime was cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals. Jackie was considered a die-hard fan.
Jackie was preceded in death by her father, Rodney Warden, paternal grandparents, maternal grandparents Lee and Helen Buck of Raymore, and nephew Andrew Ziegler. She is lovingly survived by her children Jessica Marie Goranson of Tulsa and Matt Goranson and his fiancée, Katie Murray, of Maryland; mother Helen Warden of Bella Vista, Arkansas; sister Becky Ziegler (Brad) of Kansas City, Missouri; brother Ken Warden (Anita) of Mansfield, Texas; the father of her children Robert Goranson, of Broken Arrow; other extended family and a lifetime of friends.
