Obituary

JACOB CHANCE WHITNEY

Jacob Chance Whitney, 24, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away on July 28, 2025. Born on January 18, 2001, in Overland Park, Kansas. Jacob brought light and energy to those around him throughout his life.

A graduate of Raymore-Peculiar High School, Jacob had a couple jobs working in retail. It wasn't until he started working at KM Tactical that his passion for firearms could really be seen. He was promoted to Warehouse Manager because his dedication and work ethic were evident in all he did, especially when pursuing the things he was passionate about.

He was known for his fun-loving and outgoing nature. He had a generous spirit and often put the needs of others before his own. Adventurous at heart, he embraced life with enthusiasm and courage. Whether camping or heading out on a hunting trip, Jacob found joy in the outdoors and cherished those moments deeply.

All his love for the outdoors started when he was a child when he joined the Boyscouts. He did a lot of things and went on many adventures. Through hard work and dedication, he became an Eagle Scout and then became a Shaman of Mic-O-Say.

He was a member of Manna Fellowship Church, where his presence was felt by many.

He had such a big, beautiful smile that could light up any room that he entered. Though devious looking at times, making him look like he's up to no good, it will definitely be something you remember most.

Jacob is survived by his mother, Debra Stich; his brothers Derrick Stich, Joshua Whitney, and Billy (Jenna) Qualls III; his nephews Devin and Reed; his niece Avarie; sister Deena (Ian) Bayless; his grandfather Dave Mills; his aunts; uncles; cousins; co-workers and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Qualls Jr..; grandmothers Marilyn Mills and Juanita Qualls; and grandfathers Stanley Jones and Billy Qualls Sr.

May Jacob's memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire kindness and adventure in their lives. Jacob loved his friends and family so much. He impacted their lives just like they impacted his.

A visitation will be held at Manna Fellowship Church in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, on August 8, 2025 from 2pm to 4pm with a service immediately after.
