IVAN B. HALSNE

Ivan B. Halsne, age 69, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on August 24, 2018.

A Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 31, 2018, with a funeral mass to follow at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1800 SW State Route 150, Lee's Summit, Missouri. Lunch will follow the mass. Graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. at Raymore Cemetery in Raymore, Missouri.

Ivan was born on September 29. 1948 in Dubuque, Iowa. He was the son of Reuben Halsne and Agnes McPhillips Halsne.

Ivan was united in marriage with his wife Carol on December 23, 1971. Together they were blessed with two daughters, Traci and Shelley, and one son, Michael. He was a devoted husband and father. He was very active in all his children's activities, including assisting with scouts and as a baseball and basketball coach.

Ivan received his MSE degree and devoted 30 years to working as a high school teacher as well as a middle school and high school guidance counselor. He cared deeply about the success of all his students, especially those at risk.

Ivan is preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Agnes Halsne, his sister Thelia Halsne, and his grandson Garrett Geis.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Carol Halsne, daughter, Traci Ring (husband Jeremy), daughter, Shelley Geis Waters (husband Jason), son, Michael Halsne; two grandsons, Brennan and Cameron Ring, and one granddaughter, Rhiannon Ring.
