HOWARD LYNN JERNIGAN

Howard "Hutch" Lynn Jernigan, age 78, of Raymore, Missouri passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Hutch was born in Sulphur, Oklahoma on July 3, 1943 to Homer Jernigan and Ruth (Matthews) Jernigan. After high school, Hutch honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He later worked at Honeywell as a pipefitter, excelling to a planner/scheduler before retiring. In life Hutch loved any sports that were outside, especially golfing. He also enjoyed fishing, canoeing, dancing and traveling. He attended Rock Brook Church in Belton with his wife Marlys. Hutch was also a Master of the Masonic Lodge #450 in Belton. Hutch lived with Parkinson's for over fifteen years with dignity and strength.

Hutch was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Ruth Jernigan; and sister Peggy Bell.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 31 years, Marlys Jernigan; son, Travis Jernigan; daughter, Tina Jernigan; two step sons, Brian Dietz and Scott Holder (Kristina); step daughter, Gina Williams; brother Doug Jernigan (Shirley); and seven grandchildren.
