HENRY M. MONK

Henry Michael Monk, 61, of Peculiar, MO passed away July 22, 2014. Family and friends of Henry Monk are invited to join together in a celebration of his life on July 28, 2014 at New Hope Christian Church 18809 State Route Y Hwy., Belton, MO 64012 with visitation at 10 AM and the service at 11 AM. Graveside service will be 3 PM at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO.


Henry was born February 26, 1953 in Coushatta, Louisiana, the son of John Henry and Fannie Luller Todd Monk. Henry was preceded in death by his father; brother, Billy Wayne Monk and nephew, Jason Winegeart. He is survived by his wife, Jeannie of 22 years; children, Julie Madsen (Matt), Krystina Erichsen (Steve), Micheala Driskell (Craig) and Rachel Monk; mother, Fannie Monk; brothers, James Earl Monk and Troy Keith Monk; sisters, Julia Ellen Winegeart (Charles), Judy Elaine Wells (Clyde), Patricia Gail Greene and Peggy Ruth Godley (Milton); five grandchildren, Mackenzie, Joshua, Mason, Kyerstin and Talya and many nieces and nephews. Henry greatly loved serving others and traveling. He served on numerous mission trips throughout his lifetime. Henry retired as a Master Sergeant in the US Marine Corps after 20 years of service. He enlisted December 03, 1978 and retired December 31, 1992.
