HELEN LOUISE ZMUDA
Helen Louise Zmuda, age 94, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024 surrounded by her loving daughters.
Services will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 at St. Sabina Catholic Church, 700 Trevis Ave., Belton, Missouri 64012. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Helen will then be laid to rest next to her late husband, Walter at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Raytown, Missouri.
Helen was born in Kansas City, Missouri on January 11, 1930 to John Muehlebach and Anna (Boehm) Muehlebach. In the summer of 1953, Helen was united in marriage with her late husband Walter Zmuda on June 6th in Kansas City, Missouri. Their union was blessed with six daughters. Helen was a woman of Catholic faith and was a member for many years at St. Sabina Catholic Church in Belton, Missouri. In life, Helen found her purpose as a mother and eventually a grandmother as she cherished her children and grandchildren. Helen also enjoyed cooking for her family and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals.
Helen was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 50 years, Walter Zmuda; parents, John and Anna Muehlebach; granddaughter, Amanda Morrison; and three siblings, Alice Rieger, Mariann Muehlebach, and John C. Muehlebach.
Cherishing Helen's memory are her six daughters, Ann Morris (David), Kathy Mayer (Marty), Marcia Washam (Kevin), Lisa Morrison (Kenny), Karen Birchfield (Patrick), and Alexandria Emerick (Dan); eleven grandchildren, Stephan Morris (Kelly), Jennifer Morris, Morgan Z. Mayer (Abby), Kristen A. Mesiti (Benjamin), Dustin Washam, Derek Washam, Erica Stouck (David), Amy Morrison, Lindsay Morgan (Rusty), Katelyn Birchfield, and Abby Emerick; and eighteen great grandchildren.
Helen's family would like to especially thank the care team and Alto of Overland Park as well as Helen's Advanced Hospice team, Hannah and Freedom.
