Hector Alvarado, of Belton, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico, Hector spent his formative years growing up in Chicago, Illinois, where he began building the foundation of a life marked by hard work, dedication, and love for family.
In 1991, Hector met the love of his life, Mary. The two were inseparable from the start and married on June 7, 1997. This past June, Hector and Mary joyfully celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary— a testament to their enduring love and partnership. Together, they never passed up an opportunity to spend time with friends, visit family, or embark on vacations and cruises. Over the years, they cruised many miles, creating cherished memories and sharing countless adventures.
A self-taught machinist, Hector worked in a variety of machine shops throughout his life, earning the respect of colleagues and friends for his skill, perseverance, and strong work ethic.
Hector was known for his fun-loving spirit, playful nature, and appreciation for life's simple pleasures. He was an avid fan of the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs, always cheering them on with enthusiasm alongside Mary. He enjoyed playing card games with friends, visiting the casino, and spending peaceful days fishing and boating. Hector loved being outdoors and found his greatest joy in time spent with family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Alvarado, and children: Hector Alvarado Jr., Zachary Alvarado, and Patience (Nicole) Alvarado. He is also survived by three granddaughters, four great-grandchildren, and a multitude of nieces and nephews who lovingly knew him as Tío. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Kincaid; his great-grandson, Dakota; his parents; and several brothers and sisters.
Hector was a devoted husband and father, remembered for his unwavering love, great sense of humor, and the warmth he brought to every gathering. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the lessons he taught, and the joy he shared so freely.
