HARRY BOND, JR.

Harry Bond, Jr., age 89, of Raymore, MO, passed away on March 7th, 2016, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO.

Visitation will be 5-6:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Inurnment begins at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery of Higginsville, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church (1111 W. Foxwood Drive, Raymore, MO 64083).

Harry Bond, Jr. was born on June 3rd, 1926, in Honolulu HI. His parents were Leonard H. Bond and Harriet H. (Hillis) Bond. Less than a week after Harry turned seventeen, he enlisted into the U.S. Naval Service and bravely served his country during WWII and served in the Navy until his honorable discharge in 1946 as a Gunner's Mate 3rd Class. He went on to receive a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the KU School of Engineering.

On August 24, 1947, Harry married the love of his life, Mary Jane (Clark) Bond, and to this union four sons were born, Richard, Thomas, James, and John Bond.

Harry was member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, and also of the American Legion.

Harry Bond, Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Harriet Bond; two sisters, Betty Lea Bond and Dixie Lou Mason; and one brother, Thomas H. Bond.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary Jane Bond; his four sons, Richard W. Bond (Susan), Thomas R. Bond (Kerrie), James N. Bond, and John P. Bond (Shelley); one sister, Harriet R. Stenberg; five grandchildren, Richard, Christian, Rachel, Yun Hee, and Sae Ra.
