HAROLD P. RAY
Harold "Hal" P. Ray, age 83, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018.
A Visitation Service will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 in the Atrium at Connection Point Church Raytown, 10500 E. State Route 350, Raytown, Missouri 64138. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Connection Point Church with Burial to immediately follow at Floral Hills Cemetery, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, Missouri 64133.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Hal's name may be given to the Connection Point Church as addressed above or Summit Christian Academy, 1450 SW Jefferson Street, Lee's Summit, Missouri 64081.
Hal was born on January 6, 1935 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was the son of Charles H. Ray and Thera Peters Ray.
After high school, Hal served his country as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy. He then married his late wife Patricia Ann Ray on February 20, 1965, they enjoyed forty-three years of marriage until her death in 2008. Together, they were blessed with three children, Christopher, Gregory and Julie. Hal received a bachelor's degree in History from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana and for eighteen years worked in sales at Sears. Hal also worked as a Funeral Director at Hinton Funeral Home of Raytown.
In 1970 Hal became a member of the First Baptist Church of Raytown and remained so until his passing. There, he served as a Deacon and sang in the choir. Hal ministered many people throughout his life and was also a Sunday school teacher. Faith was one of the most important pieces of life to Hal.
Hal is preceded in death by his loving wife of forty-three years, Patricia Ann Ray; parents, Charles and Thera Ray; and three siblings, Charles Hollis Ray, Jacqueline Rice and Elton Ray.
He is survived by two sons, Christopher B. Ray (Brenda) and Gregory C. Ray (Shani); and daughter Julie A. Ray; six grandchildren, Bethany Ray, Brittany Stuck (Jay), Ashley Ray, Katie Wires (Christopher), Christopher Ray and Emily Ray; and one great grandson, Hudson Stuck.
