HB FLAKES

HB Flakes was born on June 13th 1941 in Crockett Country, Tennessee. To the late Richard and Areatha Flakes. HB Flakes departed this world on July 8th 2026 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

HB Flakes received his formal education in the Crockett Country School System. Furthering his education, attended Lane College. Later relocating to Kansas City, Missouri. HB began working for General Motors, also Cargill until his retirement at an early age being raised in a Christian Environment. HB accepted the Lord Jesus as his personal savior, later being baptized in St. John Baptist Church #1 Jackson, Tennessee. HB was united in Holy Matrimony to his love Mary Flakes February 24th 1963. Being blessed with two wonderful children Eddie, and Marnie. HB came a long way from picking cotton, working as a sharecropper in Tennessee. HB enjoyed fishing, hunting, painting cars and sharing in the family reunions at his family home in Jackson, Tennessee. HB was a very hard worker and everyone enjoyed his presence. HB was an excellent provider for his family. HB leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife of 63 years Mary Flakes, his son Eddie Sr / Yvette, daughter Marnie / Gary Steinhurst, one grandson, Eddie Jr., granddaughter, Tiffany Haygood, Preceded in death, granddaughter, Sydney Steinhurst, two sisters, Linda / John Kincaid, Offretta Flakes, one brother Offie Flakes all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Four sisters preceded in death Ulla, Margaret, Mary Elizabeth, Mary Ann. One brother preceded in death James Mitchell. Four aunts, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Servies will be held on Friday, July 24th 2026 at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. HB will then be laid to rest at Raymore Cemetery in Raymore, Missouri.
