Obituary

Goldine Waveney Butts McCullough, 90, of Belton, Missouri went home to the Lord with the loving hands of her family taking care of her on Jan. 2, 2010. She was born Aug. 9, 1919 in Parsons, KS the daughter of Otis and Maude Gott Butts. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, 5-8 pm, at Cullen Funeral Home, Raymore, MO. A Celebration of Life will be at 10 am Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010 at Belton Christian Church with graveside services following at 3 pm at Oak Hill Cemetery, Chetopa, Kansas. Memorials may be made to Belton Cares, 110 W. Walnut, Belton, MO 64012 to support the continuation of the MADD Billboard in Belton. She graduated from Mound Valley High School in 1936 and married Clifford Keith McCullough April 8, 1937 in the Baptist parsonage in Mound Valley, KS. They moved to Belton, MO Jan. 31, 1959. Goldine worked at Crest Thriftway for 11 years. In 1989 she retired from AT&T after 17 years. Goldine was a member of Belton Christian Church, where she served in the Women's Fellowship and Bell Choir and brightened Sunday mornings as a greeter. She was an active member of MADD. Goldine had the honor of being the Grand Marshall of the Belton Community Days parade. She enjoyed working as a polling judge in Cass County for many years. One of Goldine's loves was the Celebration Singers where she was lovingly known as Grandma Goldine to hundreds of kids. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clifford, daughters Shirley Davis and Glenna Davis, grandson Jimmie Barnes II, great great grandson Blake Alexander Davis-Lawson, and brother, Wayne Butts. She is survived by her daughters Betty Moore of Hays KS, Peggy Conner and Donna Robertson of Belton MO, 18 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Mama and Grandma Goldine taught us Love, Patience, Caring, and Devotion to family and God. She was greatly loved and respected by her family and many friends. She will be missed by all. Heaven truly received its brightest gem the day God called her home.
