GLYNN E. FAIRHURST
Glynn E. Fairhurst, 84, Edwards, Missouri passed away peacefully on March 3, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011 with visitation and light refreshments from 1:00 - 2:00 pm at Warsaw Bible Church 16155 Waggoner Rd, Warsaw, MO. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Crossroads Family Ministries in Glynn's name to 314 W Main, Warsaw, MO 65355. Glynn was born in East Prairie, Missouri on August 14, 1926. He served in the US Army during WWII in the Marianas Islands. After the war, he attended the University of Missouri-Columbia and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Conservation and Forestry. He was a lifetime member of the Blue Springs Masonic Lodge (past member of Marlborough Masonic Lodge) and the VFW post #8100. After retiring from Allied Signal (Bendix) in 1986, he enjoyed traveling with his wife Pauline, spending quiet time at their home in Raymore, Missouri and fishing at their lake cabin. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert, mother, Elsie and by his wife of over 50 years, Pauline. He is survived by his children, Ronald Bartley and wife Cynthia, Robert Bartley and wife Gail, Paulette Simonds and husband Steve, Laura Hermann and husband Michael, and Glenna Mahoney; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. With a gentle spirit and a twinkle in his eye, he leaves a legacy of honesty, integrity, good humor, and a strong faith to his cherished family, many friends, and acquaintances. He passed from this world the same way he lived, quietly and with dignity. He will be missed by one and all.
