GLEN ELDON SHERRER

Glen Eldon Sherrer, 88 years old, left this world on March 7th, 2016 at home in Raymore, MO. He was born January 5, 1928 in Kelly, Kansas. Glen was preceded in death by his son, Randy Sherrer; and parents, Henry and Esther Sherrer; brother, William "Bill" Sherrer; sisters, Stella "Sally" Kraus and Mildred Kraus. He is survived by his beloved wife Irene (Hughes) Sherrer of 69 years; daughter-in-law, Deanne Sherrer (Salina, KS); son, Bradley Sherrer (Admire, KS); daughter Glenda Dethloff (Mike-Raymore, MO); four grandchildren, Lori Allen (Ray), Dana Russell (Ronnie Hicks), Eric Sherrer (Pam) and Kari Anderson (Ted); eight great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jordan, Becca, Zach, Kassedi, Malik, Lance and Grayson; four great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews as well as many friends. Glen and Irene were married in Council Grove, Kansas, June 14, 1947 after he served in the United States Army. Most of his life was spent as an auto mechanic, but he could do almost anything. He loved to travel and had lived in several places from Missouri to Arizona. Glen loved life on his terms, and one of his most treasured qualities was the ability to wipe the slate clean with each sunrise. He will be remembered and loved as we miss those sparkling blue eyes. As requested, Glen and Irene's services will be held together at a later date.
