GEORGE J.L. CALLWELL
George J.L. Callwell, 90, of Raymore, MO passed August 27, 2014. Visitation 6-7 PM Friday, August 29, 2014 at Cullen Funeral Home with Masonic services at 7 PM. Graveside will be 10 AM Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kanas City, MO. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association 6800 93rd St, Overland Park, KS 66212. George was born January 31, 1924 in Platte City, Missouri, the son of George and Rachel G. Rhodes Callwell. George was preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life, wife, Betty and son, Bruce E. Callwell. He is survived by his sons, Lloyd C. Callwell and wife Cheyenne, and Shanon B. Callwell; 8 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren. George was a life member, in good standing, of Eastgate Masonic Lodge #630 for over 60 years as well as a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. He served 44 years of military service, was a WWII Army Veteran, serving in the 635th Tank Destroyer BN and under the service of General George Patton.
