GEORGE DAVID ENGLAND
George David England, age 72, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, December 9, 2020.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Calhoun Cemetery in Calhoun, Missouri. A celebration of life will be held on a later date.
George was born in Mansfield, Ohio on April 22, 1948 to Gordon England and Betty (Baucom) England. Growing up, George was one of three boys. After graduating from Grandview High School, George went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Central Missouri State University – now University of Central Missouri. For the next forty years, he worked as a wholesale florist, much of that time owning his own business. In the summer of 1971, George was joined in marriage with his wife Sandy, on July 31st. Together they were blessed with two daughters, Kimberly and Kristy.
In life, George was a man of faith, family and friends. He and Sandy were long time worshippers at Blue Ridge Bible Church before moving over to First Baptist Church of Raytown – now Connection Point, where they were very involved with their Sunday School group – in and outside of church. He loved being around his friend groups , his family and was a huge car enthusiast. George also enjoyed renovating and maintaining his cabin in Calhoun, MO, the town that he spent much of his formative years growing up.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Betty England; and brother Gordon England.
He leaves behind his loving wife of over forty-nine years, Sandy England; two daughters, Kimberly McCoy (Chris) and Kristy Erck; brother, Mike England (Sheila); sister-in-law, Diana England; six grandchildren, Chancellor, Madison, and Savannah McCoy, and Samuel, Elizabeth, and Jacob Erck; and two great grandchildren, Leo Lovelace and Indie McCoy.
