GARY MICHAEL PALMER

Gary Michael Palmer, age 74, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by the love of his wife and family on Friday, March 17, 2017.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 21, at Cullen Funeral Home in Raymore.
A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 22, at St. Sabina Catholic Parish in Belton, Missouri. Burial will take place at Raymore Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be given to the Kansas City Hospice Foundation (1500 Meadow Lake Pkwy., Suite 200, KCMO 64114).

Gary was born February 21, 1943 in Pittsburg, Kansas. He was the son of Earl and Katherine (Parks) Palmer. During October of 1961, Gary was inducted into the U.S. Navy and bravely served his country during the Vietnam War. On July 2, 1970 he was united in marriage to Thelma Dobbins. Together Gary and Thelma were blessed with three sons, Douglas, Andrew and William. Gary lovingly supported his family as a computer operator for Allied Signal and later retired after 32 years of service. He was a member of St. Sabina Catholic Parish.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Katherine Palmer; his brother and sister, Joseph C. Palmer and Kay E. Palmer.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Thelma Palmer; his sons, Douglas M. Palmer (Regina), Andrew M. Palmer (Andrea), and William M. Palmer (Rita); eight grandchildren, Coaltrain, Zephyr, Richard, Amy, Robert, Jacob, Katlyn and Alexis; two sisters, Rosemary and Cecilia Palmer.
