FUMI "KATIE" OLSON
Fumi "Katie" Takai Olson, age 87, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2017. Fumi was born April 21, 1929 in Shikoku, Japan.
She attended the college of Meracho Japan and received a Bachelor degree in Nursing.
Fumi married "Bob" Delbert M. Olson on December 23, 1952. They ported in San Francisco, California on June 9, 1953 from Japan.
She resided in Cumberland, Iowa for 34 years. She worked at C&M elementary School for 15 years. She loved to sew, crochet, play cards and bingo.
She is survived by her two daughters, Irene Cullen of Peculiar, MO and Susan Zimmer of Aurora, CO; five grandchildren, Kyli Harmon, Aleisha Fotopoulos, Seth Cullen, Bill Christensen and Andy Christensen; seven great-grandchildren, Alexis Harmon, Austin Harmon, Cullen Kintner, Chloe Cullen, Claire Cullen, Drake Christensen and Ayden Christensen.
Private family inurnment will take place at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Cumberland, Iowa.
