FRANCES N. NELSON

Frances N. Nelson, age 95, of Raymore, Missouri passed away July 6, 2017 at Foxwood Springs Living Center of Raymore. Memorial service will begin at 1:30, Monday, July 10, 2017 in Holmes Hall at Foxwood Springs Living Center of Raymore. Chaplain John Young officiating.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00, on July 14, at Linwood Cemetery in Boone, Iowa. A memorial service will follow at 1:30, on July 14, at Grace Community Church, 626 S. Division St, Boone, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the "Fellowship of John", c/o Foxwood Springs Residents' Council, P.O. Box 701, Raymore, Missouri 64083.

Frances was born May 30, 1922 in Boone, Iowa. She was the daughter of Albin and Edith (Peterson) Mathson. Frances attended John Fletcher College in University Park, Iowa and received her degree in education. Frances went on to become an elementary school teacher and taught for six years. On August 7, 1948 Frances was united in marriage to Ivan L. Nelson, and together they were blessed with three daughters, Audrey, Kathleen and Joyce.

Frances was an active member of the Evangelical Free Churches in Boone, Madrid and Martensdale, Iowa. She sang in a women's trio, and played both piano and organ.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Ivan L. Nelson; parents, Albin and Edith Mathson; two sisters, Elizabeth (Myron) Johnson and Virginia (Wayne) Carlson.
Frances is survived by her daughters, Audrey Nelson, Kathleen Walter (Kelly), and Joyce Scholle (Alan); four grandchildren, Andrew Walter (Annie), Ryland Walter (Lauren), Elandria Walter, and Tim Scholle (Megan); and seven great-grandchildren, Reagan, Gunnar, Titus, Maverick, Draven, Rhett, and Landry.
