In remembrance…

Faye Abel , 83, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 24, 2018, from 10:30 am – 12:00 p.m. at Cullen Funeral Home 612 W. Foxwood Dr., Raymore, Missouri 64083.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Missouri Department of Conservation, Donations, PO Box 180, Jefferson City, MO 65102-0180; or the charity of your preference.

Faye was born December 19, 1934 in Salem, Arkansas, the daughter of E. O. "Bo" and Orpha Mae Chadwick.  Faye married Boyd Dodd on February 24, 1951.  She was preceded in death by both her parents; her brothers Jerry Chadwick, Ray C Chadwick, and C J Chadwick; and her daughter, Meri Susan Bara.

Faye is survived by her son, Michael Dodd and wife Wynona; two daughters, Janet Dodd and partner Jerry Clawson, and Gayla Dodd Horn and husband Michael; her son-in-law John Bara; one granddaughter, Jenny Durant and husband Dave; and two great-granddaughters, Faye – her namesake -- and Ellie.

Faye spent her early working years as a full-time homemaker and mother, and later, after her children were grown, worked in production at Marion Labs until she retired in the early 1990s.  After retirement, Faye moved to Pittsburg, MO where she enjoyed crappie fishing, gardening, and searching her woods for wildflowers to grow in her yard.  Faye also loved to shop; she was an avid bargain hunter and would spend time finding just the right thing for just the right price.  Faye's greatest love was her family – children, granddaughter, great-granddaughters, nieces, and nephews.  Over the years, she traveled to Cape Cod, Washington DC, the Outer Banks of North Carolina, New York, Northwest Arkansas, and Boston to spend time with all of us.  We love and miss her.
