EWA M. ZAWADA

Ewa M. Zawada, age 71, of Raytown , Missouri , passed away peacefully on July 7, 2018 .

A Polish Rosary will begin at 10:00 a.m. , Saturday, July 14, 2018 , at Cullen Funeral Home in Raymore. Anyone is welcome to attend this traditional Polish ceremony.

A visitation will follow immediately from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

A Memorial Service will begin at 12:00 p.m.

Family and friends are invited to attend a luncheon/celebration of life at the High Blue Wellness Center from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. All are welcome.

Ewa was born on September 8, 1946 , to Eugene and Danuta (Pukas) Katowski in Bielsko Biala , Poland ; her sister, Ursula was born in 1949.  The two lived with their parents during their childhood. After high school Ewa went on to college where she obtained a Bachelor's Degree.

In 1965, Ewa met Stanislaw Zawada. The two were united in Marriage on November 11, 1967 . Together, Ewa and Stan shared over 50 years of marriage.

On July 1, 1971, Ewa gave birth to her first son Mariusz (Mark) Zawada. Six years later on June 5, 1977, she gave birth to her youngest son Andrzej (Jesse) Zawada.

In 1980, Ewa and her family moved from Poland to Austria , where they lived for 3 years. In 1983, they made the difficult decision to leave their family in Europe to seek a better life for themselves and their two children.  They moved to the United States where they first resided in Kansas City .  They lived in Kansas City for one year and decided to move to Maryville, Missouri. It was in Maryville that Ewa took classes at Northwest Missouri State to learn English.  Shortly after, the family moved to Raytown Mo where they resided until her passing.

Ewa worked for the Lewer Agency in Kansas City, Missouri until her retirement.
