ESTHER E. HEISEL

Mrs. Esther Elizabeth Heisel of Raymore, MO left this earth for Heaven on April 28th. Although still 39, she was born on April 10, 1918 to Elbert and Ellen Auberry Medley. Esther was a south Missouri hillbilly who loved to travel the country. She never met a stranger and had many lifelong friends. She will be remembered as a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Esther worked as a beautician most of her life. Her patrons were more than just customers and her beauty shop was a place for visiting and friendship as well as hair styling. She taught Sunday school to little ones at Queen's Garden Methodist Church in Kansas City, Kansas. She has been a part of the St. Paul's Methodist Church family for the last fifteen years. Esther leaves behind her precious daughter, Wanda Helen Wells, grandchildren Lisa Hilliard and Linda Portman, great-grandchildren Andy, Julie and Kevin, her brother, Walter Medley, and her nieces and nephews including Mary Ellen Smith, Mary Jane Lord, Mayme Esther, and Frieda. Esther was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Joe Heisel, her sisters Thelma and Mayme, her brothers Tom and Roy, and her niece Leona. We already miss her kindness and her loving spirit. The family is especially grateful to Senior Helpers and the caregivers who have blessed all of our lives for the past several years and to Good Shepherd Hospice. Funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Cullen Funeral Home with visitation 10-11 AM. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice or St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
